Position : Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Generalist

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Generalist to join our clients' healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities :

• Patient Care : Perform basic patient care tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Duties include monitoring vital signs, potentially taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Daily Living Assistance : Aid patients with personal care activities and daily living tasks such as bathing, grooming, eating, and mobility while maintaining their privacy.

This includes daily dental and oral care, required baths, dressing, hair and nail care, and ensuring the use of prescribed appliances such as eyeglasses, hearing aids, splints, and braces.

Rounds and Safety Checks : Conduct walking rounds at the beginning of each shift with the off-going CNA / RCC to ensure resident safety and address immediate care issues.

Continue walking rounds at least every two hours or more frequently if needed throughout the shift.

• Encouragement of Physical Function : Assist residents in reaching their maximum level of physical function by providing minimal assistance needed (per Kardex) for ambulation, transferring, and toileting, ensuring safety by utilizing proper transfer techniques.
• Weight and Incontinence Care : Obtain weights as indicated by the nurse. Ensure all incontinent residents are kept clean, dry, and odor-free.

Provide proper toileting methods as indicated on Kardex, maintain bowel and bladder retraining programs if needed, and ensure accurate documentation.

Provide Foley care as needed and report any changes in bowel or bladder function to the nurse.

Documentation : Complete all required documentation in Matrix and assignment sheets timely, ensuring residents are properly coded to reflect their actual abilities, behavior, and food and fluid intake.

Inform nurses of any changes to the resident using the Stop and Watch form.

• Positioning and Comfort : Position bedfast residents in correct and comfortable positions, turn and reposition bedfast residents every two hours, and reposition wheelchair residents every hour.
• Linen and Hydration : Change bed linens, ensuring they are tight to prevent wrinkles from forming under residents. Provide fresh water at the correct consistency to all residents.
• Meal Preparation : Prepare residents for meals, including taking them to the bathroom if needed, washing their hands, placing bibs, ensuring proper positioning, setting up meal trays to accommodate residents' needs, and assisting with feeding if required.
• Activity and Social Support : Assist residents in preparing for and transporting to activities, social programs, and room transfers.

Qualifications :

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
