The Director of Clinical Admissions establishes a strong business presence with target audiences, including but not limited to : Acute Care providers, physicians, and others as identified within the assigned geographic area to build awareness for the Nursing and Rehabilitation and its services.
He / she matches capabilities to patient needs and facilitates patient flow from Acute Care providers into the facility to meet or exceed census.
He / she also makes patient acceptance and placement decisions on behalf of the Nursing and Rehabilitation and communicates decisions to referral sources based on published performance standards.
Duties Include :
- Promote the Nursing and Rehabilitation, both internally and externally.
- Serve as a business resource and initiate referral relationships where possible.
- Maintain a current target list of potential new referral sources.
- Complete pre-admission assessment accurately either personally or by telephone to gather clinical and financial information.
- Aggressively seek out potential clients and facilitate referrals into the Nursing Center.
- Respond to referrals based on published productivity / performance standards.
- Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements :
- Current NYS RN licensure preferred.
- Five to seven years of recent clinical experience.
- Preferred case management experience.
- Must read, write and speak the English language.
- Experience in business / development preferred.
- Prior experience in utilization review or discharge planning preferred.
