Certifications : ACLS, BCLS, NIH
Must-Have :
- Strong Neuro experience
- Experience in Vents, IV Start, Neuro Intensive Care Unit
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Blood Product Administration
- Central line care / management
- Continuous IV sedation management
- CVA / Acute Stroke management
- Experience with External ventricular drains (EVD), ICP Monitoring, Post Neurosurgery management, Care of Ventilated Patient, Isolation Precautions / Use of PPE, Lumbar Drain experience & Arterial Line Management
Job Description :
- Work in a comprehensive stroke center
- Patient population includes strokes (ischemic, hemorrhagic), SDH, craniotomies, carotid stents, carotid endarterectomies, aneurysm coiling / clipping, seizures, Depth electrodes, myasthenia gravis
- Take care of drains such as EVDs, LDs, hemovacs, Camino (ICP monitoring)
- Utilize special equipment : EVD, Lumbar Drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
- Work with unit systems such as Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
- Comfortable with patient ratios of 2 : 1, which can flex up to 3 : 1 during high census
- A strong neuro-critical care background, not just general ICU experience
- Work every other weekend
- Call requirement : None
- Floating requirement : Yes
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Orientation provided for 24 hours (2 days or 2 nights)
- Dress code : Navy blue & White scrubs required
