Job Description :

As a Shipping Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily shipping and receiving operations of our company.

You will ensure that all outgoing shipments are processed efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Additionally, you will manage a team of shipping associates, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure that department goals are met.

Key Responsibilities :

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of shipping and receiving personnel to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Oversee the preparation of outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation, to ensure accuracy and compliance with shipping regulations.
• Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries and negotiate rates to optimize shipping costs.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures to create a safe working environment for all shipping personnel.
• Train, mentor, and develop shipping associates to enhance their skills and performance.
• Monitor and analyze shipping processes and identify opportunities for improvement to increase efficiency and reduce costs and errors.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate shipping activities and resolve any issues or concerns that may arise.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies governing shipping and receiving operations.

Qualifications :

• Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Clean driver's license and a history of driving large trucks preferred
• Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, regulations, and documentation requirements.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with shipping software and inventory management systems.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Ability to lift heavy loads over 100 lbs
• Ability to use hand tools, drills, saws, and to build crates for shipping over seas
