Join our team as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) and play a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of patients undergoing dialysis treatment. You will be part of a dedicated cross-functional team, providing essential care under the supervision of experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) and Charge Nurses (CNs) for individuals experiencing renal failure.
Key Responsibilities :
- Patient Care : Interact directly with patients to ensure they receive safe, comfortable, and top-notch dialysis treatment, including :
- Gathering vital patient statistics before and after treatment.
- Initiating and monitoring treatment sessions.
- Terminating treatment and collecting blood samples as ordered by physicians.
- Technician Duties : Maintain a high standard of care by :
- Preparing and cleaning dialysis machines, conducting safety checks, and logging results for quality control.
- Ensuring compliance with protocols and regulations.
- Safety and Quality : Apply appropriate safety measures, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Participate in staff meetings and continuous education opportunities.
What We’re Looking For :
High school diploma or equivalent.A strong desire to work in healthcare and support patients.Previous experience in healthcare, particularly in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is advantageous.Requirements :
Complete the USRC training program approved by the Medical Director within 8 weeks of hire.Undergo training in hemodialysis theory and practice, also within 8 weeks of hire.Obtain CPR certification within 90 days or as state requirements dictate.Achieve Patient Care Technician certification within 18 months via a state or nationally recognized program, maintaining good standing thereafter.Ability to distinguish primary colors and handle mixing acids and bicarbonate as per protocol.Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of individuals battling kidney disease?
