Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined ER and Med Surg position requiring a compact or SD license, with dual coverage responsibilities and rotating shifts.
Responsibilities
Work in a Critical Access Hospital setting with combined Emergency Room and Med Surg unitsPatient caseload may include up to 5 patients on Med Surg, with 3-4 patient nurse ratios depending on census and acuityRotate between day and night 12-hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per weekRequired to work every other weekend and holidayOn-call required for three shifts per 13-week contractFloat between ER and Med Surg units as neededUses EPIC EMR and Sanford One Charge charting systems; Pixis medication system utilizedUnit consists of 25 bedsResponsibilities include providing acute nursing care in both ER and Med Surg environmentsOne day of ER and one day of Med Surg unit-specific training provided, with EPIC EMR training includedFirst-time travelers are accepted for this assignmentLocal candidates are accepted and considered local if living within an 80-mile radius, though different pay rates may applyReturning employees must have an employment gap of at least 6 months from any Sanford Health location prior to considerationAll clinicians must badge in and out at the facilityHoliday coverage is required as part of the rotationRequirements
Active SD or Compact RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of RN experience requiredAt least 6 months of recent ER and 6 months of recent Med Surg experience within the past yearCurrent BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NRP certifications required prior to startTNCC credential preferredAbility to function independently in both ER and Med Surg settingsCompliance with Sanford dress code, requiring navy scrubs without logos; white undershirts or lab coat allowedBenefits
