About the Summer Internship Program

The Summer Internship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students and beginning professionals with practical experience in a specific area of museum work at The Museum of Modern Art.

Each Tuesday, interns participate in professional development activities designed to increase understanding of the Museum’s various collections, exhibitions, and departments.

The Museum hosts approximately 25 interns per season in just about every department. Participants may arrange for academic credit through their school, but it is not a requirement.

MoMA Summer 2024 internships require a commitment of four days per week. The schedule is Monday-Thursday, 9 : 30 a.m. 5 : 30 p.

m. One must have a minimum of two years of college completed (or equivalent) by June 2024 in order to apply.

Department Projects & Tasks

Intern will assist in the development of art programming for people with disabilities. These offerings

include guided tours, films, and studio workshops for NYC audiences with disabilities and older adults.

Duties will include assisting with content planning, program logistics and administration, tracking,

documentation, and assessment.

Department Requirements

Program management abilities, including organizational skills, keen attention to time-sensitive tasks, and

strength in communications. Knowledge of modern and contemporary art, an art and museum education,

and best practices in museum accessibility. Demonstrated interest in disability and / or community work.
