Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults.

The Activity Therapist is an important role at Forest View Hospital. The Activity or Recreational Therapist is responsible for providing activity and group programming for adult and adolescent patients.
The goal of Activity Therapy is to assess, educate and develop recreational social, leisure and daily living skills. This position actively supports, promotes and works to fulfill the Mission, Vision, and Values of Forest View Hospital using our Service Excellence Program.
Key Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Facilitates group programming activities.
- Provides alternative, individual and tailored treatment activities as needed for patient care.
- Complete Activity Therapy assessments and provides opportunities for patients to become aware of leisure strengths and interests.
- Participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
- Assists with safety observation and response to emergencies according to hospital procedures.

Qualifications
Activity Therapist Job Requirements :
- A Bachelor of Science in Recreational or Occupational Therapy from an accredited academic institution.
- CTRS certification or other appropriate certification or license.
