Under the direction of the Director and Team Leader the registered nurse will assess, perform, document, and evaluate professional independent nursing practice.
Job duties will include the following :
- Prepare patient, family member and / or significant other for procedure by educating on preoperative requirements, confirms planned procedure and answers questions
- Admit patient to the preoperative area, assesses patient and prepares the patient for surgery and / or planned procedure
- Receive and monitor patient’s condition post procedure
- Works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia team to assure safe, timely emergence from anesthesia
- Educate patients, family member and / or significant other by instructing them about procedure, medications, physician’s discharge orders and their continued care after discharge
- Other duties as assigned
Work schedule :
This is a per diem position with the ability to pick up a variety of day / evening shifts. No nights, weekends, or holidays expected.
Required Qualifications :
- Associates OR Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Two years of nursing experience in recovery room and / or related field such as ICU
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the State of Minnesota
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification preferred
