Position Overview :

Term : IT Project Manager

Location : California (Los Angeles or Orange or Riverside or San Bernardino)

Pay : $110.00 - $130.00

Hours : 8 : 00 – 5 : 00 PM

The IT Senior Project Manager will lead critical pre-planning and system integrator engagement activities for a major Advanced Metering Infrastructure initiative. This role focuses on resource planning, technical blueprinting, business process design, and vendor coordination within a complex IT environment. Facilitate IT business process mapping and requirements gathering to ensure alignment with functional needs, technical delivery, and SI area of responsibility. The successful candidate will develop a comprehensive resource plan based on technical scope, including roles, skillsets, and effort and cost estimates across workstreams (integration, data, infrastructure, and testing). Will support the development and refinement of a high-level solution blueprint that defines scope, schedule, and budget from a technical lens — integrating infrastructure, data flows, and system interfaces to inform delivery planning. Plan and coordinate the Planning & Analyze phases, including solution design validation, technical feasibility reviews, and preparation for Build phase activities including, e.g., environment readiness, development sequencing, testing strategy, and rollout deployment.

Job duties may include : apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments; meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues...Education / Experience : Bachelor’s degree in applicable profession, business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Possesses three to five years of experience.

What you will bring to the team :

Experience managing large IT programs, resource planning, solution blueprinting, implementation planning, and overall end-to-end delivery management.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Familiarity with AMI, smart grid, or large Electric Utility technology and infrastructure projects.

Strong blend of business insight and technical proficiency to bridge the gap between stakeholder needs and technological solutions.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle high-volume tasks during ramp-up periods
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, computer science, or other business-related discipline (including liberal arts majors).

  • Experience with utility technology needs, including strategic objectives and areas of investment focus.
  • Experience delivering / developing technical information to a non-technical audience as well as to senior leadership.
  • Experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning or strategy / management consulting.
