We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team to provide therapeutic services.
Bilingual Spanish speaker is preferred. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality mental health services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual and group therapy.
The therapist will work with a diverse clientele, addressing a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and more.

Job Responsibilities : Duties and Responsibilities :
Licensed Mental Health Therapist
- Provides clinical assessment and treatment services to assigned clients and their families. These services may include : clinical assessments, treatment planning, individual therapy / counseling, family therapy / counseling, group therapy / counseling, crisis intervention / safety planning, treatment monitoring, evaluation, discharge planning, referral, and consultation and collaboration with relevant OMHC and other service providers for coordination of care.
- Maintains compliance with the contract, grant, and position expectations, including : meeting productivity requirements, maintaining minimum caseload requirements, and timely submission of data through electronic health records system.
- Compiles and maintains accurate documentation in individual client case files in a timely manner and ensures the maintenance of complete clinical records as directed by policies and procedures.
These records include completing clinical psychosocial assessments for each new client within required timelines and updating assessments as needed, completing initial and subsequent Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs) within required timelines, documenting and filing progress notes within 24 hours of each psychotherapy / counseling session, and making corrections as needed within 24 hours, completing all required discharge documentation within required timelines, maintaining all assigned client mental health charts at all times in good and complete order.
Collect program evaluation data from participants in groups, workshops, and individual and family counseling.
- Responsible for scheduling appointments with assigned clients.
- Performs all duties in compliance with OMHC policies and procedures and with State of Maryland COMAR Regulations.
- Collaborates with other healthcare providers, case managers, and support networks to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participates in regular supervision and staff meetings to ensure quality care and professional growth. Attends and / or obtains minutes of quarterly staff meetings to remain abreast of program issues, policy and procedure changes, and training content.
- Stays current with continuing education requirements and maintains licensure in good standing.
- Adheres to ethical principles for the practice of counseling as defined by the Social Work Code of Ethics and the code of ethics of the Counselor Licensure Board.
- Performs other ad-hoc projects and duties as assigned. Must be in office a minimum of 2 days.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in a mental health field such as psychology, counseling, or social work.
- Valid and current license required such as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C), Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW), Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC)or equivalent.
- Proven experience in providing therapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and therapeutic interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Keen attention to detail. Ability to express ideas with clarity, confidence and sensitivity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- A driver’s license with 3-points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
- The employee must pass a criminal background check. Certain job functions may require employee to pass a child sexual abuse and other criminal activity as well as a credit check.
- All staff providing services to staff or clients, must be free of illegal drugs and abuse of alcohol, and must be fully able to perform all required duties at all times.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certification in specialized areas such as trauma, addiction, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
- Experience working with specific populations (e.g., children, adolescents, adults, court ordered clients).
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
Pay : Starting at $69,000 per year with a $1500 signing bonus upon completion of probationary period.
