Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children.

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit forms part of our Perioperative Services continuum, and provides full support throughout the duration of a patient's surgical procedure, including ward admission, anesthesia, surgery and recovery.

Professional care includes identification of the patient’s individual needs, patient care plan development and implementation and the coordination of nursing service to restore the patient’s health after a surgical procedure.

You would provide nursing services through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care.

You would also function as an associate to a charge nurse, and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities. We are looking for a warm and motivated individual who shares our commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications : Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse license. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR cards.

One (1) year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience.

Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field. Experience with pediatric and adult post-anesthesia, sedation, and / or Intensive Care Unit.

Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Two (2) years recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in an Emergency Department.
