Position Summary St. Anthony Catholic High School, a private, college preparatory High school for young men and women, is seeking an Assistant Volleyball Coach.

This is a seasonal part-time position. Position is expected to coach sport within the mission of St. Anthony Catholic High School and our Core Values of Honesty & Integrity;

Community; Service & Social Justice; Scholarship; and Holistic Education. The Assistant Volleyball Coach reports to the Athletic Director.

• Assist the Head Volleyball Coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of volleyball;
• Assist the Head Coach in game planning for opponents;
• Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities and teach fundamentals necessary for the sport;
• Assess players’ skills, monitor players during competition and practice, and keep the Head Coach informed of the athletic performance of athletes;
• Assist the Head Coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition;
• Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury;
• Model sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct and language towards players, officials, and spectators;
• Participate in special activities to include parent’s night, banquets, awards night and pep assemblies;
• Attend staff meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance;
• Follow the rules and regulations of the TAPPS guidelines;
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Athletic Director, and Head Coach.

Qualifications Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of Volleyball positions and game situations;
• Possess effective coaching techniques and skills;
• Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of volleyball;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents and students;
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

Required Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Required Work Experience Two (2) years of experience as a high school or middle school volleyball coach.

Note that experience as a collegiate volleyball player will substitute for coaching experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree or higher;
• High school varsity playing experience;
• Experience serving as a strong role model for students;
• Knowledge of SACHS and 5 Core Values.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations

• Current CPR Certification or ability obtain within 30 days of employment;
• CDL or ability to obtain CDL within 45 days of hire date.
• Must have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

Work Hours PT coach practice hours are Mon-Fri after school (school days only) from 3 : 30-5 : 30pm. Game schedule attendance is mandatory which includes evenings and some weekends.
