We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Technical Writer to provide parts research, onboard validation, and acquisition services in support of small boats under 200 feet, primarily US Navy small boats program.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Experience providing technical writing and edit support to US Navy Acquisition program.

Familiarity with researching, analyzing, and verifying technical data to bring manuals to required standard and ensuring accuracy of information.

Ability to comprehend mechanical and electrical system and equipment drawings.

Ability to conduct parts research for mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.

Basic Qualifications :

A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in writing standardized material for manuals, instruction books andrelated technical publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment.

Minimum of 2 years leadership experience in relevant field.

Knowledge of the military, commercial and recreational marine industry in boats under 200 feet.

Must be able to travel occasionally.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Expert knowledge of Arbortext 5.3 and above. Understanding of XML & SGML.

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Working knowledge of Google Office Products.

Experience in the development of technical documents to specified military standards.

Experience in Quality Assurance of technical documentation.

Desired Qualifications and Skills :

Know how to utilize available training resources & follow training guidelines.

Perform equipment validations on boats either on trailers or in the water.

Clearance Requirements :

Current and active Secret security clearance.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.

Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

May be asked to move Audio / Visual or Computer equipment.

For all positions requiring access to technology / software source code that is subject to export control laws, employment with the company is contingent on either verifying U.

S.-person status or obtaining any necessary license. The applicant will be required to answer certain questions for export control purposes, and that information will be reviewed by compliance personnel to ensure compliance with federal law.
