JobDescription
- Implements physician orders, administersmedications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures andspecial tests, and document treatment as required by company policyand local / state / federal rules and regulations.
- Orders,interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assesspatients' conditions.
- Assesses and evaluates patientneeds for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Appliessound nursing judgment in patient care managementdecisions.
- Provides primary and emergency care foroccupational and non-occupational injuries andillnesses.
- Administers over-the-counter and prescriptionmedications as ordered.
- Collaborates with the nursingteam to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Directsand guides ancillary personnel and maintain standards ofprofessional nursing.
MinimumQualifications
- Graduate of a professional academicnursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree orBaccalaureate Degree is conferred
- Must hold current NYSRegistered Nurse license
- Obtains and maintainscertification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport (ACLS). PALS preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years ofprevious clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or ProgressiveCare
- Excellent communication, prioritization,organizational and time-management skills
- Possessesknowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solvingtools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in supportof departmental and patient care qualityimprovement.
