Much More PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES : The Production Supervisor to oversee manufacturing processes in our Chemical Response Kits business.
This position will direct teams to ensure that safety and Customer First’ focus is maintained. It will oversee the manufacturing process to ensure that production is completed at the lowest cost and that inventories are utilized to maximize profitability while implementing and maintaining safety standards as required by law and company policy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping of the area while meeting production quality and quantity standards on the shift Promote teamwork and positive environment.
Must be an agent for positive change - ability to influence / lead others Support, enforce, and apply safe work practices.
Must maintain a standard of World Class Safety Performance’ Proven negotiation and interpersonal skills Drive specific initiatives to achieve cost reductions through Lean Manufacturing Review daily production schedule for the department to plan work and personnel assignments for the shift Supervise and direct personnel on shift in performing tasks according to sound operating principles, company policies and procedures Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes, product specifications and equipment Execute production schedules and manage process flow Manage employees job completion hours against budgeted (standard) hours Identify and coordinate training needs of employees in order to develop skills to allow for department flexibility and for personal development Interview, recommend hiring, training, discipline, evaluate, and develop goals with employees Develop and promote cost reduction ideas and continuous improvement opportunities in processes and procedures Additional items as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS : Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred) 5+ years in manufacturing supervision Leadership skills, with the ability to positively motivate Excellent communication skills, including ability to clearly indicate expectations, train and develop employees, and report progress or issues to higher management Understand a manufacturing environment, tools, and safety skills required Basic MS Office knowledge, including Outlook, Word, and Excel PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION : Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to stoop, bend, twist, climb ladders and / or stairs Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the facility We are committed to a safe, drug-free work environment and pre-employment drug screening, physical and background checks are required prior to starting.
