SALARY :

$101,920 to $112,900+ per year, the posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU’s compensation plan.

RVU’s full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

The Director of Campus Operations oversees all facilities, security operations, resources, initiatives, and functions at the Colorado campus.

This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating campus operations to ensure the development and implementation of efficient, cost-effective systems that meet current and future needs.

The Director is pivotal in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

The Director will work closely with the Vice President of Growth and Strategic Initiatives to align campus operations with the university's strategic goals.

Additionally, the Director will collaborate with the Senior Director of Operations from the Utah campus to ensure consistency with university-wide operational standards and procedures.

The Director regularly work with the leadership on the Colorado campus.

Essential Job Functions

  • Monitors and oversees day-to-day operations for the Colorado campus, ensuring alignment with university goals and policies.
  • Coordinate with the Vice President of Growth and Strategic Initiatives to ensure strategic objectives are met.
  • Plans and executes the approved annual budget for all aspects of campus operations ensuring cost-effectiveness and allocation of resources according to institutional priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Campus Operations in Utah to ensure consistency in university-wide processes and leverage best practices
  • Provides leadership, direction, and support for the Campus Safety and Security and Facilities and Grounds teams and other operations at the campus.
  • Responsible for recruiting, developing, advancing, and retaining personnel with direct reports in alignment with RVU's core values.
  • Work closely with the IT department to ensure that operational processes and systems are effectively integrated with technology solutions.

This includes participating in IT project planning, system implementation, and troubleshooting to align technology initiatives with operational goals.

Regularly assess operational risks and safety measures to ensure effective controls. Provide recommendations for waivers, insurance certificates, and secure agreements.

Conduct preliminary reviews of MOUs, contracts, agreements, and statements of work before submission for execution by the Vice President or President or for further legal review.

  • Develops and execute strategies to ensure that operations budgets, policies, and procedures are followed.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, host VIP tours, and participate in community events representing the campus.
  • Coordinate and work collaboratively with the Utah and Montana Directors of Campus Operations. Facilitate communication and coordination between the Colorado campus and other university campuses.
  • Communicates regularly with senior management and stakeholders on operational updates, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Stays informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in campus operations to continually enhance operational efficiency and sustainability efforts.
  • Develops, implements, and enforces campus safety policies and procedures, including emergency response plans and crisis management protocols.
  • Oversees renovations, upgrades, and construction projects to expand or improve campus facilities as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of administrative operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Leadership experience in operational and administrative functions.
  • Experience in operation financial functions.
  • Intermediate level understanding of risk mitigation, waivers and insurance.
  • Experience with contract review, MOUs, agreements and SOWs.
  • Effective organizational, problem solving, planning and analytical skills with a strategic mindset and the ability to make difficult decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural team-based setting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Outlook with advanced Excel Skills.
  • Track record of leadership on Inclusive Excellence initiatives to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for faculty, staff and students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent field of study / work experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in an administrative leadership role with responsibility for multiple aspects of an organization’s operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent field of study.
  • Four (4) - six (6) years of experience in an administrative leadership role at an institution of higher learning.
