OVERVIEW :

As an associate in the Vertical Transportation discipline, you will provide consulting services to owners, developers, property managers and architects.

Services will include evaluation of existing elevator / escalator systems and the development of new equipment. Performing maintenance audits to evaluate contractor performance and make recommendations for code compliance and equipment upgrades.

Development of specifications, requests for proposals (RFPs), and project management are all part of the services we offer.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Conduct site surveys of existing equipment.
  • Review equipment for overall condition and compliance with the established maintenance program.
  • Perform code and accessibility reviews.
  • Coordination with clients and contractors.
  • Develop condition & recommendation reports.
  • Develop plans & specifications for equipment repairs, upgrades. or installation.
  • Review vendor bids and specifications for compliance with the RFP and all applicable codes
  • Review and comment on vendor shop drawings and requests for information

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field of study
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of elevator / escalator industry experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of all applicable codes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES :

  • Proficency with latest version of AutoCAD and PDF (Bluebeam and / or Adobe) MS Excel and Word required.
  • Experience in a professional environment

The Salary Range for this position is $80,000 - $125,000 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications / licensure.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, and TRAVEL :

Physical Demands - Work will be performed both in an office setting and at outside locations (i.e., Client’s office, industrial, construction, and / or residential sites).

Employee is frequently required to stand, walk on slope roofs, sit, climb ladders, bend, climb inside attics and crawl under homes and tunnels, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to job sites.

Employee may lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be sharp, focused, and alert when conducting site inspections, speaking, and interacting with clients, preparing written reports of findings, and testifying in deposition or trial.

Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.

Overtime - This position is classified as salaried with an exempt FLSA status. Regular working hours are 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.

m., Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch. There will be periods where overtime will be required, which the employee will need to comply with in order to meet the demands of the position.

Travel Requirements - This position requires up to 25% travel. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
