Location : Remote near resort locations in Pennsylvania (Ideally Pittsburgh or Philadelphia major markets)

Job Summary :

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Principal Analyst will be responsible for leading and overseeing comprehensive EHS programs across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

This role will involve the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs with a strong emphasis on proactive risk management, regulatory compliance, and incident prevention.

The EHS Principal Analyst will work closely with senior leadership, operational teams, and stakeholders to foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Environmental Compliance :

  • Conduct monthly walkthroughs to identify and address environmental hazards.
  • Support investigations of environmental incidents, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely submission of incident reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee Oil Pollution Prevention initiatives, including the development and updates of Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans.
  • Prepare and update tank registration documents, ensuring all required permits and registrations are current.
  • Provide guidance on hazardous waste management, including storage setup, waste determinations, generator classification, and consolidation practices.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for hazardous waste disposal and review invoices for accuracy.
  • Review air pollution control logs, calculate emissions, compare against permit limits, and prepare necessary permit applications and annual reports.
  • Oversee water withdrawal compliance, ensuring all withdrawals are within permitted limits and properly reported.
  • Oversee wastewater discharge compliance, including monitoring discharges, ensuring adherence to permit conditions, and preparing necessary reports.
  • Ensure drinking water compliance by monitoring water quality, maintaining records, and responding to any non-compliance issues.
  • Oversee dam management compliance, including conducting regular inspections, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Lead water quality management efforts, including stormwater plan reviews, site inspections, sampling coordination, and agency reporting.
  • Conduct quarterly operational compliance reviews as directed by the operational compliance functional leader in support of enterprise risk priorities.

2. Health and Safety Oversight :

  • Provide strategic support to field H&S teams ensuring alignment with organizational safety goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on safety strategy and sub-regional planning to maintain accountability expectations.
  • Conduct regular in-person visits with remote H&S team members and complete targeted site visits to resorts every 90 days with specific objectives and reporting.
  • Support data analytics initiatives using Tableau to provide insights to senior leadership and resort teams.
  • Support safety inspections with leadership and H&S teams to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Oversee and support OSHA compliance inspections, emergency response planning, and accident investigation teams, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate construction audits, pre- and post-operation inspections, and confined space inspections to identify potential safety risks.
  • Champion a "Be Safe and Do Right" culture throughout the organization, promoting program development and compliance monitoring.

3. Program Development and Auditing :

  • Support the development strategy and implementation of EHS programs, ensuring they are aligned with state-specific regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and audit compliance with EHS programs, identifying gaps and providing corrective action guidance.
  • Oversee and audit the contractor safety and environmental compliance programs in the eastern region and working in partnership with the Construction Shared Managment team.
  • Coordinate response planning efforts, including ICS / ERP strategy development and execution.
  • Engage with regulators, building relationships and ensuring successful outcomes during inspections.

4. Leadership and Relationship Building :

  • Build strong relationships with on-site and remote teams, fostering collaboration and shared responsibility for EHS outcomes.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the EHS team, ensuring their professional growth and alignment with organizational EHS goals.
  • Participate in fire and life safety audits, post-accident site visits, and emergency response plan evaluations, ensuring all procedures are followed.

Job Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in EHS roles, with a focus on environmental compliance, health and safety oversight, and regulatory reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and state-specific requirements.
  • Proven experience leading EHS audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Certification in relevant EHS disciplines (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is highly desirable.
  • Experience successfully leading and implementing change
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with strong ability for operating with intent to solve
  • Experience accomplishing objectives through others

Working Conditions :

  • The role requires regular travel to various sites, including resorts, construction sites, and remote locations.
  • Must be able to conduct physical inspections in various environmental conditions, including mountainous terrain.
  • Occasional weekend and after-hours work may be required to respond to emergencies or urgent safety issues.

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $95,693.40 - $127,441.64 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
