About The Position
Job Title : Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Specialty : Nuclear Medicine Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Monday - Friday, 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM;
Rotating call every other weekend Guaranteed Hours : 40 Hours Per Week Experience : Cardiac and General experience preferred License : ARRT (N) or NMTCB Registry required Certifications : BLS (AHA or ARC) required Must-Have : - Strong verbal and written communication skills- Commitment to customer service- Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently- Proficiency in venipuncture- Patient care skills Job Description : Perform radiographic exams using ionizing radiation and ensure ALARA principles are followed.
- Supervise staff technologists in the correct use of radiation-producing equipment.- Conduct invasive procedures and exams requiring contrast agents under the supervision of a radiologist.
- Participate in performance improvement activities in the Radiology Department.- Engage in continuous quality improvement activities.
- Adhere to infection control principles during direct patient care.- Conduct safety / control checks on department equipment.
- Demonstrate proper medication administration principles.- Provide patient protection through the use of shielding, confidentiality, and safety measures.
- Wear a radiation film badge during work hours.- Explain procedures to patients and obtain proper consent forms.- Provide age-appropriate care, demonstrated by completion of age-specific competency checklists.
Education : Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
