About The Position

ICU Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience required

License : Must have an active state license to apply

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required

Must-Have :

  • Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response Skills
  • Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias
  • Obtain 12 Lead EKG
  • Pre / Post Cardiac Catheterization Skills / Experience
  • Chronic / Acute Renal Failure Experience
  • IV Therapy Skills / Experience : Accessing Ports, Arterial Line Management, Blood Product Administration, Central Line Care / Management, PICC Line Management, Starting IVs
  • Medication Experience : Continuous IV Sedation, Emergency Medications, Titrate Cardiac Drips, Titrate Vasoactive Drips
  • CVA / Acute Stroke Management Experience
  • Respiratory / Thoracic Skills / Experience : Management of BiPAP, CPAP, Care of Ventilated Patients, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Interpretation of ABGs, Suctioning, Ventilator Management

Description :

The ICU RN will work night shifts with a patient ratio of 1 : 5.

The unit consists of 20 beds.

First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

The clinician will be required to work every other weekend.

Candidates may float within their scope to meet facility needs.

There is no on-call requirement.

The role demands strong skills in cardiac and respiratory care, as well as the management of critical patients.

Special patient diagnoses include chest pain, CHF, afib, NSTEMI, dysrhythmia, post-cardiac interventions, ablations, cardiogenic shock, syncope, stroke, respiratory failure, pulmonary embolism, renal failure, and GI bleed.

Special procedures on the unit include cardiac catheterization recovery, managing chest tubes, and responding to emergency situations.

The role will involve operating equipment such as temporary pacing devices, defibrillators, IV pumps, and ventilators.

Floating to other departments may be required as part of the job responsibilities.
