Responsibilities

• Responsible for directing, developing, and executing student services that support undergraduate advising and student success within the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy (COSSPP). Serving as a key member of the COSSPP Academic Affairs Leadership Team under the Assistant Dean / Director for Academic Affairs, the Asst. Director advances Florida State University’s Strategic Goal #2 : Ensuring Student Success on Campus & Beyond by expanding advisor outreach, leveraging technology, and strengthening holistic and accessible academic support services for all students.
• Fosters a cohesive work environment by ensuring the academic advisors have the training, mentorship, and resources they need to grow professionally while also cultivating an environment where staff feel supported, valued, and engaged in the unit’s mission.
• Serves as a liaison to departments, the Registrar’s Office, and other colleges to ensure accurate implementation of academic policies. Representing Academic Affairs on campus committees and working groups, the Asst. Director plays a vital role in designing student-centered initiatives and ensuring COSSPP students receive the guidance and support needed for academic and personal success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years experience related to academic and / or student services or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years in the same.

Anticipated Salary Range

Starting at $57,000, commensurate with education and experience.
