Unit SpecificsNumber of Beds : 766 licensed bedsUnit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : 35 OR’s 25 in block currently with 1 dedicated Trauma emergency room, 1 hybrid roomType of equipment : we have a large number of equipment specific to each specialty.

We do not have a burn unit in the hospital and we do not do VAD’s, Heart transplant or lung transplants we do most other proceduresDocumentation system : OR ManagerScheduling requirements : all of our travelers work 1 : 3 weekends.

We can accommodate 4 10 hour shifts in a row or 5 8 hour shifts. Floating policy : to areas with competency. AMC has an internal float team that assists in filling holes.

Traditionally OR staff do not float to other areasPatient Experience requirements : We treat our patients like family. Each patient is met in the pre-op area and greeted.

Hospital Specifics-Certifications : Academic Medical Center, Level 1 trauma center (adult); Children’s Hospital within a hospital
