Science Tutor In-person Houston TX All Grade Levels

Job Summary :

SiSTEM Tutoring Agency is seeking passionate and knowledgeable Science Tutors to join our team. We provide personalized highquality tutoring services to students across Houston in all science disciplines from elementary school to collegelevel courses.

Our goal is to help students develop a deeper understanding of scientific concepts boost their academic performance and foster a love for learning.

Job Responsibilities :

Provide oneonone or small group tutoring in Science subjects including but not limited to :

• General Science (Elementary to Middle School)
• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Earth Science
• Environmental Science
• AP and IB Science Courses
• Collegelevel Science Subjects

Key Responsibilities :

• Deliver oneonone or small group tutoring sessions in person.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each student.
• Prepare and implement personalized lesson plans aligned with the student s curriculum.
• Track and report student progress regularly.
• Communicate with parents and students to address any concerns or feedback.
• Foster a positive and motivating learning environment.

MUST BE eligible to work in the United States of America and have a valid Social Security Number; (Note : We do not sponsor visas at this time).

MUST BE Committed to tutoring for the duration of the assignment with a possibility of extension.

MUST Be able to pass a background check.

Great interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt and relate to students from diverse backgrounds.

MUST HAVE your own computer and be technologically savvy (email texting Slack Google Sheets / Excel).

MUST HAVE a selfless commitment to making a difference in students lives (we work with migrant students and you must have compassion for all students regardless).

Must be willing to travel to various areas around Houston Texas and meet possibly in a public area (library coffee shop daycare etc.) to tutor in person.

Qualifications and Skills :

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Be eligible to work in the United States of America and have the documentation to prove it.

Have your own computer and be technologically savvy (email texting Slack Google Sheets / Excel).

Reliable transportation for travel to various inperson tutoring locations within Houston.

Requirements

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE :

A college student with at least 60 hours of credit hours

A college graduate (Bachelor s Master s Doctoral degree holder)

A certified teacher with SBEC or other teacher state licensure certification

A retired teacher with SBEC or other teacher state licensure certification

Skilled in Science (All grade levels are welcome to apply)

This position is a CONTRACT job. Contract Tutor will receive W9 and must file / pay their own taxes.
