Preconstruction Project Manager (Sales)
Exciting opportunity to join the Preconstruction Team as a Project Manager for one of the largest developers of ground-mounted solar farms in the Eastern US.
This key position will manage the process of new project acquisition through hand-off to the construction team. Our client is a team of highly skilled Engineers and Professionals passionate about their work and the impact they make.
As a developer and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractor, our client designs and builds ground-mounted solar farms as turn-key delivery with over 200 completed installations.
Our client is located in downtown Atlanta near the beltline.
Overview of the Preconstruction Project Manager (Sales) :
This is a great position combining technical skills with a problem-solving sales focus. Our client is looking for a motivated professional to support our EPC sales efforts of projects $3-10MM in value.
The Preconstruction Project Manager will respond to inbound inquiries and Requests for Proposals (RFP) and prepare the bid packages in coordination with the design and construction teams.
The ideal candidate has experience reading civil, electrical and mechanical drawings as well as environmental studies, permits and technical specifications.
An important part of the role is to reach out to and vet new subcontractors in different markets. Great communication skills with a focus on client and vendor relations is critical for this role.
Success in this role comes from a proactive approach in understanding project-specific constraints and translating those to the cost estimate.
The Preconstruction Project Manager will always look for ways to optimize the project value and distinguish our client’s bid from their competitors.
Experience reading EPC Contracts and Technical Specifications is valuable for this position as the Preconstruction Project Manager is expected to support the team through the contract negotiations to Notice to Proceed.
Responsibilities for the Preconstruction Project Manager (Sales) :
- Prepare bids in response to inbound inquiries and RFP’s
- Prepare construction budgets and schedules
- Extensive communication and interaction with clients and subcontractors
- Research project-specific constraints
- Identify and vet subcontractors in new markets
- Support contract negotiations after project award
- Review customer data to create the project plan
Requirements for the Preconstruction Project Manager (Sales) :
- Bachelor’s Degree or educational background in engineering, business, or finance
- Sales mindset and customer-focus
- 3+ years of overall construction industry experience (Civil, MEP, Solar preferred)
- Interest in sustainability and solar energy
- Strategic analytical thinking with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with cost estimating, CAPEX planning and / or construction budgeting
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel as needed estimated at 10%
- Must reside within a reasonable commute to our office in downtown Atlanta and enjoy working in the office.
Salary / Benefits Info :
The salary range for this full-time permanent position is between 90k 120k (base) depending on experience. This is a bonus eligible position in the 10-20% range.
