Tax Senior Manager, International
We are seeking a Tax Senior Manager to oversee international tax operations in our well-respected accounting and consulting firm.

Compensation : Dependent on Experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performs technical tax review and approves all tax returns and governmental tax examinations, regardless of complexity.
- Serves as a subject matter expert within specific tax disciplines or industries.
- Takes on full responsibility for major tax projects and effectively delegates assignments to tax preparers as necessary.
- Directly manages client service for significant client portfolios including those which are delegated from partners.
- Oversees and manages governmental tax examinations, representing clients before the appropriate taxing authorities when required.
- Focuses on staff development through recruitment, conducting performance evaluations, creating training aids, and leading professional development programs.
- Ensures smooth processing of tax returns through the tax preparation system to guarantee timely, accurate delivery to clients.
- Handles timely billing and collection processes.
- Bears responsibility for various reporting and project tasks assigned by partners.
- Researches tax preparation and tax research software to recommend top options to partners.
- Engages in firm practice development activities by building relationships with referral sources and participating in community and industry functions.
Minimum Position Qualifications :
- In-depth knowledge of current tax laws.
- Proficiency with computer-based tax preparation, research, and planning software.
- Ability to work overtime, including heavy workload periods from January 1 to April 15, with possible excess of 55 hours per week.
- Seven to ten years of experience in public accounting, showing progression in managing increasingly complex tax issues.
- At least two years of experience in representing clients before taxing authorities.
- At least one year of experience in supervising and directing the work of tax preparers.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting mandatory; master’s degree in taxation preferred.
- Minimum forty hours of continuing education annually to maintain and advance technical and business skills.
- A current and valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Membership in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in Taxation.
- Experience in a Top 100 accounting firm.
- Specialized knowledge in international taxation.
- Proactive in learning and adopting new technology and tools relevant to tax preparation and research.
- Demonstrated leadership in professional setting and industry associations.
