Job Summary
The Executive Producer is supported by a Production Manager who is responsible for handling the pre-event technical specifications, facility logistics, crew calls, CAD plans, and other technical, inventory, and internal operational tasks based on the scope of the event.
It is typical for the Production Manager to attend site-surveys and participate in customer meetings as deemed necessary by the Executive Producer.
The Executive Producer is additionally supported by an internal team of creative directors, visual designers, media professionals, scenic designers, and technical specialists representing the core disciplines of video, audio, and lighting, all of which are made in varying capacities during the sales process.
On-site, the Executive Producer serves as one of the primary customer contacts.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Actively and aggressively pursue leads and close contracts for high-level events incorporating a wide range of audiovisual, media, staging, and creative elements.
- Meet with prospective clients to promote J&S Creative Services and Show Services capabilities.
- Serve as primary customer contact through all phases of production.
- Develop creative treatments and proposal presentation plans and present them to prospective customers.
- Develop highly detailed and accurate event budgets and cost projections.
- Coordinate with internal creative and technical teams to bring event concepts to reality.
- Take an active role in promoting the J&S brand by producing events suitable for external marketing, participating in industry events, and collaborating with internal and external peers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years experience selling and producing large-scale live events.
- Portfolio of successfully produced events with budgets over $350k.
- Excellent understanding of stagecraft, production terminology, scenic concepts, and audiovisual systems.
- Background in theater, concert touring, technical direction, and / or media production.
- Developing and maintaining Pre-Production Schedules and Time Lines.
- Providing leadership to internal event teams and Account Managers / Account Executives.
- Financial Management, Cost Analysis, and Budgeting experience.
- Extensive travel and familiarity with a wide range of venue types.
