Summary / Purpose of the Position :
The Manufacturing Manager organizes, coordinates, and supervises employees and activities within the fabrication department to ensure an effective and efficient fabrication operation that meets safety, quality, and production standards.
Essential Duties, Functions and / or Responsibilities :
- Strive towards continuous improvement in accordance with divisional and corporate strategic direction and initiatives
- Directly and indirectly responsible for the quantity & quality of product produced
- Develop, communicate, and implement ERP best practice doctrine
- Act as a liaison supporting various corporate departments
- Train and develop staff with Epicor / SXE throughout the FAB locations
- Establish manufacturing standards including BOM / Routings, run rates, item creation, set, and monitor scrap and work center allocations
- Lead, develop and support all estimating, engineering, and operations personnel
- Actively participate in all quality elements
- Ensure production orders are produced according to all QMS / Federal Requirements based on site location (ISO 9001 : 2015, ISO 14001, AS9100, FDA and ISO 13485)
- Responsible for all operational documentation and inspection records as per site-specific Quality Management System
- Travel to CORP and FAB locations as needed
- Assist with relationship building with key suppliers and customers
- Leads all non-conformances and CAPA’s related to operations
- Champion for all preventive maintenance and schedules (facility or equipment)
- Responsible for tooling maintenance and records (up to date and within compliance)
- Other duties as assigned
Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :
- MBA degree preferred or equivalent leadership and business management experience in the industrial distribution or manufacturing industry
- 10+ years supervisory / operations management experience required
- Experience in Medical Product Production is desired
- Six Sigma and or Black Belt a plus
- Fundamental knowledge of ISO / Quality System and Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Ability to supervise diverse work groups in a team environment using effective listening, coaching, training, investigative and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety
- Innovative and creative ability to develop new concepts, ideas, and business opportunities for growth
- Proven track record of continuous improvement success with ERP systems
- Familiarity with customer manufacturing industry and its unique needs for creating and maintaining a competitive advantage
- Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish is required
- Proficient in MS Office products : Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and / or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local regulations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when necessary
