Captain’s Cod Company is a new and innovative traveling Fish & Chips food truck. We are looking for a Food Truck Server, assisting with various duties.
A great server will be skillful, quick, diligent, and willing to improve on the job. You need to be able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules.
The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as part of a team. This position requires travel to serving locations, which change daily.
Responsibilities : Team members on truck switch between a variety of duties throughout each shift; such as taking orders, making baskets and expediting orders.
- Greet customers as they approach the truck.
- Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
- Take food orders quickly and efficiently.
- Prepare tickets and complete transactions using electronic POS system.
- Multi-task as needed to help maintain a team player atmosphere.
- Assemble baskets based on customer’s orders.
- Assisting Food Truck Manager with the cooking of fries and keeping a consistent amount cooked and seasoned based on the amount of orders being prepared.
- Check baskets to ensure each one is as ordered. Including the correct sauces and sides.
- Calling out the window to customers once orders are prepared, packaged and ready for handoff.
- Prepare truck and stock windows / shelves with supplies prior to opening
- Restock items as needed throughout the shift
- Cleaning duties : general wipe down of equipment and counters throughout shift to keep a clean working environment.
- Assist in cooking tasks as needed.
Requirements :
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Quick learner
- Basic math skills
- Ability to remain flexible, as duties and positions change based on food truck needs.
- Knowledge of health and safety rules.
- Manuel dexterity.
- Great attention to detail.
- A team player, positive attitude and someone with good effective communication skills with both coworkers and customers.
- Professional & Friendly, even in tough situations.
- Patient with the ability to stay positive under pressure.
- Very good physical condition and endurance.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time throughout work shift.
- Ability to lift 30+ lbs throughout your work shift.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable.
- WA State Food Handlers Card or the ability to obtain one by start date.
- Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
Work Schedule : Truck servers work Tuesday Saturday from 10 : 30am to 7pm. This is a food truck; shifts may vary and at times can be very long.
Flexibility is key in this position. Position is part time to start, with the opportunity for full time. Potential advancement to Manager for the right fit, eligible after one year.
