Infection Prevention Specialist

Location : Downey, CA

Salary : $145,000 $185,000 + Bonus + Signing Bonus + Paid Relocation

Schedule : 8 am-5 pm Days, Monday-Friday

Job Summary :

We are seeking an Infection Prevention Specialist who will be responsible for implementing and maintaining infection prevention and control programs.

You will participate in surveillance programs, conduct investigations, collect and analyze data, and assist in the development of educational programs.

Additionally, you will review policies and procedures related to occupational health.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Proactively provide information, resources, advice, and expertise to coworkers and stakeholders.
• Complete work assignments autonomously and support business-specific projects.
• Educate others on infection prevention and control by responding to inquiries and assisting in the development of educational programs.
• Utilize epidemiological principles to conduct surveillance, participate in investigations, and record findings.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and attend committees and teams.
• Engage in ongoing surveillance by maintaining dashboards and creating regular reports.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

• Minimum one (1) year(s) of experience in infection prevention, quality management, or a related field.
• Masters degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Microbiology, or related field AND minimum two (2) years of healthcare / professional experience OR Bachelors degree in Nursing, Public Health, Microbiology, or related field AND minimum four (4) years of healthcare / professional experience OR Registered Nurse (RN) License (without a Bachelors degree) AND minimum six (6) years of healthcare / professional experience OR Minimum seven (7) years of experience in a related field.
• Infection Control Certificate within 24 months of hire.
