Expert Staffing West is seeking an Experienced Maintenance Technician

Monday - Thursday, 5 : 00 AM - 2 : 30pm.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED, is required.
  • Certifications are optional but can highlight a candidate's capability to manage job demands effectively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods, along with physical endurance to handle an active, full shift.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems, with experience in Multi-Craft Maintenance.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience using a scissor lift.
  • Ability to climb ladders over 30 feet.
  • Basic electrical knowledge, particularly in handling high-voltage situations.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the facility, equipment, and machinery; inspect for malfunctions and repair defective components promptly to prevent productivity delays.
  • Evaluate the operational condition of facilities, equipment, and machinery, and conduct necessary repairs.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program, including :
  • Maintenance of existing production equipment.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Addressing potential safety hazards to prevent injuries.
  • Support and repair ventilation and other systems, coordinating with outsourced maintenance / service vendors when necessary.
  • Work within the established maintenance budget.
  • Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Respond to urgent breakdowns / downtime events, which may require flexible scheduling, including after-hours.
  • Conduct pest control activities, such as spraying insecticide.
  • Perform routine building maintenance, including repairing structural damage to windows, doors, or walls.
  • Fix broken or leaking plumbing to prevent water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
  • Repair damaged electrical wiring in cases of shortages or severed wires.
  • Maintain the building's light HVAC equipment to ensure proper climate control within the facility.
  • Apply preventative measures to the building, such as using sealant on flat roofs, to reduce the risk of future problems.
