Assistant Manager

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an individual with a solid foundation in the shipping and receiving profession to join our team to be our Assistant Shipping and Receiving Manager.

The right person, possessing the work ethic and skills for this role and upon successful completion of our training program, will advance into a leadership role and manage the warehouse to maximize our efficiency and accuracy as we continue to grow.

This is a Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm job.

Compensation : $18 - $22 hourly

Responsibilities :

• Pulls and packs inventory orders in an efficient and timely manner.
• Processes all shipping labels through UPS WorldShip, USPS, and FedEx software.
• Verifies order accuracy of all inbound and outbound shipments.
• Maintains inventory of packing / shipping supplies and requests reorders as needed.
• Keeps accurate records of all goods shipped and received.
• Makes product deliveries in company vehicles to various local customer locations.
• Obtains customer signature on all delivery tickets and provides the customer with a receipt.
• Operates forklift, pallet jack, and / or other equipment as needed to move inventory to various locations in the warehouse.
• Examine all inbound shipment deliveries for damage prior to accepting.
• Review purchase orders or shipping manifests to confirm inbound shipment accuracy.
• Receives and checks in deliveries and inventory transfers for stock items and puts them on shelves in proper locations.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area, and operates floor machine and other cleaning / maintenance equipment as necessary.
• Adheres to company policies and Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications :

• Valid state driver’s license in good standing required.
• Knowledge of UPS WorldShip software.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines and metrics.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Education :

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience :

• At least 2 years of experience in a warehouse / shipping department setting required.
• Experience using UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, and DHL Online.
• Quality Control Inspector experience preferred.
• Experience in lean methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
