About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - ICU Job Specialty : Intensive Care Unit Job Duration : Up to 18 weeks Shift : Night 4x12-Hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 30) Guaranteed Hours : 48 hours preferred Experience : Minimum 1-2 years in ICU License : Must have RN license Certifications : BLS & ACLS required;
NIH, TNCC preferred Must-Have : COVID vaccination required - religious and medical exemptions accepted with completion of exemption form signed by a provider Job Description : Patient care responsibilities in a high-acuity ICU environment- Patient management with an ICU staffing ratio of 1 : 2- Required weekend shifts : Every other weekend- Perform procedures such as chest tube insertion, intubations, paracentesis, thoracentesis- Proficiency in managing CKRT, arterial lines, central lines, and vas cath- Familiarity with FloTrac / Vigileo monitoring- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias- Manage multi-system organ failure and chronic / acute renal failure- Administer IV insulin protocols and blood products- Provide central and PICC line care / management- Start IVs, administer continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips- Manage CVA / Acute Stroke and hypothermia protocols- Assist with BiPAP / CPAP management and interpretation of ABGs- Proficient in suctioning (ETT, NT) and ventilator management- Conduct phlebotomy and manage surgical wounds with drains / Wound Vac- Experience with patients diagnosed with Sepsis / Septic Shock, Respiratory Failure, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, ETOH withdrawal, and Orthopedic Trauma- Familiarity with CRRT- NxStage, Edwards FloTrac- EV1000, and use of equipment such as Phillips Monitors, Hill-Rom ICU beds, Ceiling lifts, Arctic Sun, and Bear Hugger- Must float within scope to meet facility needs, including occasional floating to other inpatient units- Not open to locals within a 75-mile radius- Pending license not accepted at the time of submission- Adherence to specific compliance requirements and deadlines
