General Notes
The Office of Finance at the Dell Medical School is looking a Budget Manager.
Purpose
Responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining the budgets in the clinical, research and clinical education pillars as well as Admin and support functions, in conjunction with department leaders and finance peers.
Responsibilities
Serve as key leader and liaison for the Sr Director of Finance and the CFO in creating the annual budget, including analytics, ad hoc requests, and presentation materials.
Assist department leaders in clinical, research and education, as well as admin and support departments in creating their annual budgets in accordance with organization standards.
Develop analytics and standardized monthly financial review processes between departments and finance to assess performance to budget in volumes, revenues and all expense categories.
Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance related field. At least six years related work experience demonstrating increasing responsibility in a healthcare and / or higher education academic research environment.
Extensive knowledge of general ledger systems and procedures. Broad knowledge of accounting and financial reporting principles, superb analytic, project management, and presentation skills.
Strong organizational skills, a flexible work style and be able to manage multiple challenging projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
Demonstrated experience converting complex data sets into simple and concise material available to appropriate audiences.
Ability to assess competing priorities, manage workflow, and meet operational deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in academic healthcare, hospital, and / or higher education setting. An advanced degree in business, accounting, finance or related field.
Salary Range
$78,000+ depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
May work around standard office conditions.
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
Occasional weekend, overtime and evening work to meet deadlines.
