Job Title : Behavioral Health Cook
Location : Prosperity Pointe (Knoxville)
Job Type : Part Time 3-4 hours a day, 7 days a week
Overview : We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Cook to join our team. This role is essential in providing support to individuals with behavioral health needs.
In addition to therapeutic support, the technician will be responsible for daily meal preparation, ensuring that clients receive nutritious and appealing meals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Behavioral Support :
- Assist clients with daily activities and personal care as needed.
- Implement therapeutic interventions under the supervision of licensed professionals.
- Monitor client behavior and document observations accurately.
- Facilitate group activities and discussions to promote social skills and emotional growth.
- Cooking and Meal Preparation :
- Plan and prepare balanced meals that meet dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Collaborate with clients to involve them in meal planning and cooking, fostering independence and life skills.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to food safety standards.
- Ensure all meals are served in a timely manner and adjust meal plans based on feedback from clients.
- Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and any incidents, reporting them to supervisory staff.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss client care and program development.
- Maintain accurate food safety records in accordance with city and state regulations.
- Team Collaboration :
- Work collaboratively with therapists, nurses, and other staff to ensure comprehensive care.
- Assist in training new staff or interns as needed.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (CPR, etc.) preferred.
- Experience in behavioral health or a related field is a plus.
- Strong cooking skills and knowledge of nutrition.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
- Must obtain and maintain food handler certificate
