Job Requirements
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.
- Must be flexible and willing to float and work when needed.
- Nurse : Patient Ratios : 1 : 2-3 for adults, 1 : 2-4 for Peds.
- Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Adults and Pediatrics, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress.
- RNs required to titrate drips.
- Common titratable & / or set rate drips include any cardiac drip, insulin, sedation.
- RNs required to read and interpret tele / monitor equipment.
Schedule Information
- 13 Weeks contract, Every other Weekend / Holiday.
- Shifts & Scheduling available are 0630-1830, 1830-0630.
- Weekend Requirements : Every other.
- Holiday Requirements : Rotating based on weekend group.
- Floating Requirements : Typically to PCU, possibly to MedSurg.
- How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? : 3 shifts.
Unit Specific Information
- Department : ICU RN.
- Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Health Support Tech M-F 0800-1630.
- Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?
RNs required to read and interpret.
Additional Details
RN's not approved for blocked scheduling or same schedule / shifts.
of Beds : 33 beds, average daily census is 16.
- RT Equipment include : Nasal cannula to vent.
- Radius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
