About The Position
Job Title : Trauma Surgeon - LocumJob Specialty : Surgery - TraumaJob Duration : 13 weeksShift : - Monday-Friday : Day Shift 7 : 00 AM - 4 : 00 PM- Three weeknights : Night Shift 4 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM- Weekends : 24-hour Shift Saturday / Sunday 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 AMGuaranteed Hours : Not specifiedExperience : Minimum years of experience not specifiedLicense : Active Connecticut License requiredCertifications : - Board Certified - ACLS (AHA)- DEAMust-Have : - Fellowship Training- Local candidates preferredJob Description : - Coverage needed for recruitment of a full-time surgeon- Practice setting in a hospital with a trauma level designation of Level 1- Average of 5 trauma surgical cases per day- Annual emergency room volume of 80,000 with 35% admission rate- Total of 617 beds- Use of Epic EMR system- Full complement of operating room staff- Patient demographic primarily includes adult and geriatric, with occasional child / adolescent casesProcedures Required : - Adult and geriatric trauma cases- Penetrating and blunt trauma cases- Chest tube insertion- Laparoscopic procedures including appendectomy and cholecystectomyAdditional Information : - Estimated credentialing timeframe of 30-40 days if all licensure is active and in good standing - Credentialing costs or application fees are not reimbursed- Mileage reimbursement for local candidates Please note : This is a locum position until a full-time surgeon is hired.
