SUMMARY
The Medical Laboratory Technician tests all types of laboratory specimens for all age groups from neonates to geriatric patients;
reviews and reports lab results; performs operational duties, maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION : Associates Degree from an approved college or university and / or graduate of an accredited school of medical laboratory technicians, or equivalent such as military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 0-2 years as a medical laboratory technician.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE : Certified (registered) or registry-eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency, .
ASCP, HHS, AMT. Registry eligible should obtain certification within 1 year from date of hire. Once certified, no annual renewals are required.
