Corporate Control Overview :

As a member of the PepsiCo Corporate Control team, you will be part of a global and agile team with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

We look to recruit and develop high-caliber individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including candidates with traditional "Big 4" public accounting experience.

Corporate Control associates gain experience leading teams and developing a broad understanding of PepsiCo's multiple businesses.

Responsibilities

Summary of the role and key accountabilities :

PepsiCo is currently looking for a Control and Reporting Associate Manager to join our Debt and Derivative Accounting Center of Excellence (COE) in Purchase, New York.

This role will report directly to our COE Senior Manager.

This role will sit within Corporate Control, and work closely with other teams, including : Domestic and International PepsiCo Sector Control, Treasury and External Reporting.

The right candidate will have a positive impact through working within and across teams, identifying and implementing process improvements, and leveraging technology, where possible.

This is an opportunity to join a central team that has a key role in managing foreign exchange, commodity, and interest rate risk at PepsiCo, with great exposure to senior management.

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting knowledge base, outstanding attention to detail, strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, a great attitude, and a strong teamwork ethic.

Derivative accounting experience is not required, as training will be provided.

  • Prepare and / or review periodic accounting close entries and related reporting for hedging programs
  • Work with the team to plan the accounting closes, including coordinating with Treasury, to ensure smooth closes
  • Communicate with the sectors on a regular basis regarding derivative activity
  • Assist in the implementation of new hedging programs in accounting software
  • First level review of initial documentation
  • Prepare long-term and short-term debt files : review Treasury-provided details and sector reporting, and prepare analysis
  • Coach, develop, and mentor senior analysts on the team
  • Ensure effective internal SOX control procedures are in place and operating effectively. Perform SOX testing
  • Prepare and / or review quarterly and annual footnotes for 10-Q and 10-K reporting in external reporting software
  • Present quarterly analysis of results to the Director
  • Assist in the review of Treasury-prepared audit committee and board presentations
  • Assist in new debt issuances, including the review of related documents
  • Assist in any other ad hoc projects as needed

Compensation and Benefits :

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $85,200 - $142,650 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 4 - 6 years of experience in Accounting / Auditing

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Big 4 accounting / auditing experience
  • Flexible, resourceful, self-motivated with desire for self-improvement
  • Growth mindset, passion for learning and fully understanding specific subject area
  • Interest in process improvement and exploring new technology tools for efficiencies
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Familiarity with HFM, Workiva
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy
  • Able to work within a highly collaborative team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
