In-Person Instructor Role - Flexible daytime, after school and weekend hours available

Job Title : Classroom Instructor (K-12)

Location : Boston and surrounding areas (Public Schools in Boston and Greater Boston area, METCO (Lynnfield, Scituate, Concord, Brookline)

Job Summary : We are looking for responsible, knowledgeable classroom instructors who are eager to connect with students and be part of one of the busiest and fastest-growing school partnership programs in the area.

This role involves working in-person with children in grades K-12 on a variety of academic programs and enrichment programs, with a focus on literacy and STEM.

Key Responsibilities :

Classroom Management : Utilize effective techniques to create a safe and positive learning experience.

Inclusive Learning : Provide an inclusive environment for all students.

Inspire Students : Make authentic connections and share your passion to inspire students to reach their full potential.

Creative Opportunities : Encourage creative, professional, and purposeful academic opportunities for all.

Documentation : Provide timely and detailed notes after each classroom session.

Team Engagement : Engage with the team and communicate openly and regularly with those who support you.

Assessment : Assess student involvement and progress and be able to provide and accept critical feedback.

Qualifications (3 Levels of Experience) :

Level 1 : Instructor (Pay rate : $35 / hr)

At least 1 year of experience working in a classroom setting

Can communicate effectively with students and peers utilizing classroom management skills and comfortable asking for help from the lead instructor when needed

Manage classroom behaviors

Apply lesson plans in a thought-provoking way

Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and able to complete a federal I-9 form and a national background check.

Candidates who are proficient in Spanish, Portuguese, Creole, or Haitian will be given priority

Cultural Competence : Knowledge of managing a culturally diverse environment

Reliable transportation to travel between sites

Level 2 : Lead Instructor (Pay rate : $40 / hr)

At least 2 years' experience working in a classroom setting (Do not have to be a certified teacher)

Achieve a high level of classroom management, communication, and leadership skills

Manage behaviors in the classroom effectively

Apply lesson plans effectively and can go off script and modify when necessary

Experience at Title 1 schools

Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and able to complete a federal I-9 form and a national background check.

Candidates who are proficient in Spanish, Portuguese, Creole, or Haitian will be given priority

Cultural Competence : Experience working in a culturally diverse environment

Reliable transportation to travel between sites

Level 3 : Senior Instructor (Pay rate : $50 / hr)

Certified teacher

Excellent communication skills and classroom management skills.

High level of experience at Title 1 schools

Proposes a wide range of strategies to manage disruptive behaviors in the classroom

Implement lesson plans effectively and can go off script and modify when necessary

Can handle a diverse range of learners and be successful in their teaching

Experience at Title 1 schools

Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and able to complete a federal I-9 form and a national background check.

Candidates who are proficient in Spanish, Portuguese, Creole, or Haitian will be given priority

Cultural Competence : Experience working in a culturally diverse environment

Reliable transportation to travel between sites

Working Conditions :

Classroom Size : 5-20 students

Hours : Flexible daytime, after-school and weekend hours available.

Preference to entire school year and / or vacation & summer weeks. Minimum commitment for a full semester.
