Description : Job purpose :
Reporting to the VP of Asset Management, the Used Equipment Sales Representative will be responsible for prospecting, soliciting, and acquiring new customers leveraging all used equipment part of C.A.T. North America’s group of companies. This individual will build and maintain strong customer relationships, evaluate trade-ins, manage inventory, and ensure an excellent customer experience. His / her first mandate is to sell used equipment, mainly heavy-duty highway trucks, 53’ trailers including dry vans, heated trailers, flat decks, and others, to new and existing customers in support of profitability objectives. Part of the role is to develop a pricing strategy aligned with the ever-evolving used equipment market in North America, and sourcing solutions for both short term and long-term opportunities. Navigate sale cycle from lead, prospect, develop, quote and close.
Responsibilities :
- Prospect for leads to building a solid recurrent customer base, including heavy cold calling.
- Find new customers and drive new sales opportunities by identifying key decision makers and determining the appropriate approach.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through cold calling, referrals, and networking.
- Contact and conduct initial discoveries with customers via phone and email.
- Facilitate face-to-face meetings, present proposals and solutions, close business.
- Maintain close relationships with new and existing customers to ensure recurrent sales and continuous engagement.
- Translate business opportunities into incremental revenues for growth. Manage multiple requests simultaneously with organized skill.
- Collaborate internally with various teams from various divisions regarding pricing and marketing strategies, equipment preparation, and account implementation plans.
- Collaborate with the inventory manager to maintain accurate records of available used equipment.
- Evaluate and appraise trade-in vehicles for resale value.
- Coordinate with service and reconditioning departments to prepare equipment for resale.
- Maintain and update inventory listing and website.
- Works with the executive team to ensure alignment with opportunity development, planning and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and DOT requirements.
Requirements : Qualifications
2-5 Years of prior sales experience in any field.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree is a plus.Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.Technical knowledge related to heavy trucks and trailers.Ability to navigate through internal CRM software.Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.Ability to work independently.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Must be able to inspect and walk around equipment in varying weather conditions.Demonstrated ability to effectively network and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to multi-task and follow throughDetail oriented.PM22
