That’s Nice, But What’s the Job?

In short, as the Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for preparing and processing data for multiple companies in multiple states using UltiPro payroll system.

In long, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for :

  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Review and audit incoming employee data from Self Service and Onboarding systems.
  • Respond to questions, research discrepancies, and resolve pay issues.
  • Calculate retroactive pay adjustments.
  • Verify and audit information prior to payroll transmission.
  • Process manual checks when necessary.
  • Advise and mentor team members regarding complex payroll issues.
  • Resolve payroll, timekeeping and tax-related issues.
  • Answer help-desk tickets.

The Specifics.

  • 3+ years of payroll experience required; payroll tax knowledge desired.
  • Moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Basic knowledge of multi state payroll laws.
  • Experience working in multiple systems in a high-volume environment.
  • Must have experience with and demonstrate superb customer service with an emphasis on phone skills.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training and / or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.

Nice to Haves.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1 year of Workday Payroll experience.
