JOB TITLE : LUBE TECHNICIAN / LOWER BAY
Island Breeze Car Wash & Automotive Services is a premier full service car care destination, dedicated to providing top-notch automotive maintenance and repair services along with exceptional customer service.
Our goal is to ensure every client’s vehicle operates smoothly and reliably making their driving experience enjoyable. We are currently seeking a dedicated detail-oriented Lube Technician to join our team.
The primary responsibility of the Lube Technician will be to perform routine maintenance services in the lower bay of our lube department, ensuring our customers vehicles are in top condition.
This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of service our customers expect.
JOB PURPOSE :
Responsible for vehicle maintenance and light care, for example, checking vehicle fluids and oil changes. Has a general knowledge of how and why to perform preventative maintenance on vehicles, leaking engine components, and any other safety / mechanical issues a vehicle may have.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Complete under vehicle inspection.
- Observe under carriage of vehicle once started to ensure no leaks.
- Inspect vehicle for leaks and safety issues, removing and securing skid plates.
- Remove oil drain plug, loosen, and remove oil filter, wipe mounting plate, and check filter spindle.
- Inspect oil drain plug and gasket (replace if necessary)
- Wipe fittings and lubricate (if applicable)
- Wipe and fill gearboxes (if applicable)
- Perform oil changes, filter changes, and other routine maintenance services in the lower bay.
- Inspect and top off fluid levels in vehicles (e.g. transmission, power steering, windshield washer, and differential fluids).
- Ensure the lower bay area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist in identifying potential maintenance or repair needs and communicate them to the Customer Service Advisor (CSA).
- Operate hoists, jacks, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with upper bay technicians and other team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a lube technician or in similar role preferred.
- Basic knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Read, write, and speak English.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Pass Drug Screen
- Ability to operate equipment and tools safety.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in an environment that frequently experiences extreme hot and cold temperatures.
