Essential Functions The essential responsibilities of this position include : Preparation of federal and multi-state corporate income tax filings and associated workpapers including consolidations and unitary return filings Manage fixed asset software including review of capitalized assets, calculation of federal and state depreciation, and preparation of tangible property tax returns Preparation and submission of tax filing extensions and estimated tax payments.
Responding to tax notices and communications with federal and state tax authorities Assist with completion and review of corporate income tax provisions (ASC 740 / FAS 109) Research federal and state tax laws and assist with tax department administration.
Education, Skills, Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, CPA a Plus! 5+ years of experience in public accounting and / or corporate tax department Experience with federal and multi-state corporate income tax return preparation necessary Ability to manage fixed assets, understanding of tax depreciation concepts preferred Insurance tax experience (Property & Casualty) a plus Knowledgeable with tax return preparation and research software platforms, experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource and Checkpoint and plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) Detail oriented, efficient, and able to multi-task well Strong planning and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines Team oriented, and excellent communication skills The preceding position description has been designed to indicate the general nature of the work performed;
