Perinatal Sonographer #Full Time
Job Summary :
The Perinatal Sonographer will work in a collaborative environment to provide superior patient care. As a member of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine sonography team, the incumbent will perform all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving of ultrasound images, and will be responsible for the care of the patient while in the ultrasound area.
Successful candidates will have a solid foundation in sonography, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an interest in furthering their sonography skillset in a Maternal-Fetal Medicine setting.
Job Responsibilities :
- Localize and recognize difference between health and pathological areas to check for factors such as position, obstructions or changes in shape.
- Integrate diagnostic sonogram with patients' history, medical records and laboratory results, and adapt to examinations
- Present and prepare preliminary ultrasound findings to attending physician for final report
- Maintain log of ultrasound test findings.
- Present preliminary findings to physician for final report.
- Assist the physician with patient care.
- Collaboratively work with billing / secretarial staff with regards to authorizations / charges.
- Provide coverage vacation / sick day coverage at other sites as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
- High school education or GED equivalency required.
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Program.
- Candidate must be ARDMS certified or ARDMS registry eligible. ARDMS eligible graduates from CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education) accredited program must be registered in OB / GYN within 18 months of employment.
ARDMS credentials must be maintained yearly.
- OB / GYN experience for a minimum of one year.
- Ability to operate ultrasound equipment efficiently, evaluate sonogram to acquire diagnostic information, communicate diagnostic information to physicians, follow departmental protocols and guidelines, and communicate effectively with patients and health care team.
- Must be able to provide rotating coverage when required at practice sites located in Manhattan, and Westchester County.
Hourly Rate Ranges : $41.30 - $58.94
Note : Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
