General Surgery
Practice Description : Private multi-specialty group practice with 50 physicians, clinic-owned ASC serving a single community hospital.
Training : Board certified in general surgery. May consider board eligible if general surgery residency training completed within last 3 years.
Vascular and bariatric surgery experience preferred, but not required. Physician must be willing to maintain ÒmixedÓ practice with general surgery (priority) along with vascular and bariatric (if qualified).
Caseload Averages : 25-30 patients per day; ASC / OR Ð 2 days per week
Office : 8 : 30 am to 4 : 30 pm; ASC / OR varies, day usually starts at 7 : 00 am; 1 / 2 day off per week.
E D Call Rotation : 1 : 5
Guaranteed Salary Range : True minimum - $300,000 + for up to 2 years plus benefits. Partnership within two years, minimal buy-in to Clinic and ASC.
Residency / Fellowship preferences : University based program in general surgery.
Number of existing physicians in specialty : 2 Clinic, 2 Independent
Description of Practice environment : (Clinic) Minor surgery suite, physician office, patient rooms, staff of 4 including 1 nurses, 2 medical assistants and one receptionist.
2 Ultrasound technicians for vascular accredited lab. MR and CT.
Description of ASC environment (as it applies to your specialty) :
2 General Anesthesia ORÕs, full instrumentation, 22 pre / post patient bed areas w / 2 private rooms, 12,000 square foot facility opened June 2004, full OR staffing, C-arm, 2 Minor procedure rooms.
Located next to main Clinic building. ASC / Endo Center owned by Clinic physicians.
Description of Hospital environment : 10 inpatient ORÕs, MRI, CT, PET / CT scans, 300+ open heart cases annually, Full time hospitalist service is available to support inpatient care.
