General Statement

Gallatin College seeks qualified individuals to provide non-tenurable level instruction and / or related functions.

Duties and Responsibilities Gallatin College seeks course instructors to teach in the following specialty areas :

Carpentry : Fundamentals of Const. TechnologyWoodworking and Finish CarpentryCarpentry Basics and Rough FramingSite Prep, Foundations and Concrete Installation

Blueprint Codes and Estimating

Duties and Responsibilities include :

  • Understand industry standards and best practices as well as college rules and regulations.
  • Communicate well with all types of learners at different levels of expertise.
  • Recognize safety hazards and unsafe operation of tools or equipment and be able to instruct students in proper use.
  • Maintain and inventory any applicable equipment utilized in the classroom or lab settings; Inventory consumables and prepare reorder lists for restocking.
  • Maintain an organized and clean learning environment.
  • Provide and / or locate emergency medical assistance when needed.

Required Qualifications Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Three years of experience in related field
  • AAS or similar degree in related field
  • Have the ability to demonstrate construction trades technique(s) to students who may possess a variety of skill and talent
  • Demonstrated experience working with and engaging diverse groups of learners within and outside of a department

Preferred Qualifications Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Five or more years of experience in the field that topic of instruction relates to
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Industry standard professional certification(s)
  • Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff diversity
  • Prior teaching experience
  • Understanding of the two-year college mission
