About The Position
Job Title : Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Job Specialty : Long Term Care (LTC) Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Day Shift - 8 hours Guaranteed Hours : 32-40 hrs per week Experience : LTC or Rehab experience required, 2 years of OTA experience preferred License : State License required Certifications : BLS required Must-Have : State License, LTC or Rehab experience Job Description : The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) supports the Occupational Therapist by conducting therapy treatments to improve patients' mobility and physical health.
Key responsibilities include : - Recording patients' health progress and collecting medical history or other personal information.
- Monitoring patients' progress to ensure successful completion of treatment.- Encouraging patients during their recovery process.
- Assisting patients in improving their quality of life by finding solutions to their problems.- Aiding injured employees in improving their motor skills with the goal of re-entering the workforce.
- Teaching skills and techniques to patients with disabilities, helping them become more independent.- Updating patient records for the Occupational Therapist.
- Maintaining the office, treatment room, and equipment in good order.- Educating patients, family members, or other caregivers on skills and techniques to assist with the patient’s treatment program.
