Senior Project Manager with extensive DSA (Division of the State Architect) experience to lead ground-up construction projects in the public education sector.
This role requires a leader who is not only proficient in managing complex projects but also has the ability to mentor and inspire a diverse project team.
You will be responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and quality adherence.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead design-build projects with a focus on ground-up construction in compliance with DSA standards.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring each is completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Act as a key liaison between architects, engineers, contractors, and DSA representatives to streamline project approval processes.
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Oversee all phases of construction, including pre-construction planning, design coordination, construction execution, and project closeout.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and building codes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including school boards, to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Implement risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential issues.
- Maintain project documentation, including budgets, schedules, and change orders.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior project management role.
- Proven experience managing DSA ground-up construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of California building codes, DSA requirements, and safety standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills; experience mentoring junior staff.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities, with a track record of building and leading successful teams.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
