Description of Work
The Senior Assistant Director is responsible for providing academic support and guidance to Nebraska College Preparatory Academy (NCPA) students in the Omaha area, as well as coordinating all multi-day summer programming for NCPA high school students at UNL.
Some of the duties of this position will include : providing leadership and direction to their assigned high school, coordinating the recruitment of new NCPA students by collaborating with Omaha middle schools, and building relationships with community-based organizations.
The position will meet with school counselors and prospective students; interact with community organizations and agency staff;
plan and implement special events and programs for recruitment / retention of first-generation low-income students; and serve as liaison between UNL, Omaha, and other communities.
The Senior Assistant Director will partner with the NCPA wellness team to ensure the application and reporting of the DHHS Teen Outreach Program grant and the NCPA mentor program to coordinate student events.
In addition, this position supervises the staff that work with NCPA scholars at Omaha Bryan High School. May be required to work evenings and weekends.
This is a grant-funded position and will be located in Omaha, NE and will occasionally travel to Lincoln, NE.
